Ashley & Shawn's wedding day at the historic Villa Woodbine in Miami, FL was filled with meaningful details, timeless yet chic tabletop decor, and good times had by alllll on the dance floor. They invested their budget within the design elements that truly mattered to them, and made their own personal contributions to the wedding decor where it made sense to do so. They had perfect weather on this December day in South FL, enjoying dinner under a canopy of string lights and moving on into the interior of the house for a night to remember filled with the hora dance, slow dances, and everything in between!
The day began at Hotel Colonnade located in Coral Cables, where Cortiella Photography captured their glimmering details and getting ready shots.
The entire wedding party was then transported from the hotel to Villa Woodbine, where Ashley's mom zipped her into her wedding dress followed by her first looks with her girls and then with Shawn on the upstairs balconies of the venue. The venue itself is a mediterranean-style building that screams Italy meets Florida, and resulted in so many stunning photos of the couple leading up to the ceremony. From the floral-adorned fountain in the loggia, sprawling vines, and renaissance-style architecture we just can't pick our favorite images!
Their bridesmaid's wore a variety of gowns in a shade of dusty rose, contrasting from their classic all-white rose bouquets. The groomsmen each wore a black tux graced with matching dusty rose pocket squares.
Their ceremony took place in the well-kept garden of Villa Woodbine, just before golden hour when the sun began to descend and shine it's light through the trees. Guests were greeted at the entrance of the venue with the "Blushing Bride" cocktail courtesy of Bill Hansen Catering - we loooooove a good floral cocktail!! Their gold chiavari chairs glistened as the clock struck 4:30pm - it was wedding time. Ashley's parents walked her down the aisle as an instrumental version of "Wildest Dreams" by Taylor Swift played throughout the garden. The two exchanged their vows underneath the sprawling tree and ended with a breaking of the glass - an ode to Shawn's religious background.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the evening moved into cocktail hour within the loggia of the house, and then back into the garden for their reception. Their tablescapes were elegant, incorporating the bride's love of gold and orchids. Their satin linens and patterned gold charger plates were the perfect pop of elegance for their tables, paired with candles, florals, place cards, & wedding day crystals they gifted to each guest.
The couple did their first dances within the garden, under the string lights, and enjoyed dinner, speeches, and toasts in an intimate dinner setting prior to the party portion of the evening. From there, the cake was cut, the hora dance took place, and the dancing commenced!
Ashley & Shawn were such a fun, trusting couple to have as clients and it was an honor to play a role in their wedding day!
With love,
Ash
